Inaugural Warrington Primary Schools' Poetry Festival

The final celebration event of the inaugural Warrington primary schools' poetry festival took place on Monday 9th January 2017, the culmination of poetry workshops conducted in several primary schools.
The venue for the event was Great Sankey Primary School, Sankey, Warrington and around 30 children took part.

Five young poets, ranging from Y3 to Y6, won prizes and the overall winner was Sophie Pucill Y3, from Bewsey Lodge Primary School, who wowed the judges with her performance of her poem, 'I love...but...!'

Well done to all the children, staff and schools who participated in this year's super successful event!

The Liverpool primary schools' poetry festival, again organised by Paul Delaney, kicked off on Wednesday 11th January at St Paul's Catholic Junior school, West Derby, Liverpool.

On Tuesday September 20th, Paul's brand new poetry book for secondary aged children and adults was launched in September at Ormiston Chadwick Academy, in Widnes, Cheshire, along with an assembly and workshops for Year 7 children. Derek Twigg MP came along too, supporting Paul in his work.

Just a few comments from the children:
